So, what do you think about our first theme release this year?

Thanks to all of your wishes and support, 2010 has been an amazing year for us at templatic here. The year allowed us to explore newer territories and build products that never existed in WordPress space. It hasn’t been a smooth ride though – from recent DDoS attack to smaller and bigger problems our way, we have made lots of mistakes in our journey as well.

For year 2011, we resolve to take templatic to newer heights and keep bringing in products that solves a problem and helps everyone create an easy web presence which also enables the site owner make money online :)

Going GPL

When we were PremiumThemes.net, we announced going GPL and switched back in a while which is kind of long and silly story but we as a business now realize though late, this is the right decision to take and the beginning of a new year is a perfect time.

So, here onwards, all the templatic WordPress themes are licensed under the GNU general public license. We are shortly making necessary changes in our site in order to align with this license.

Club Membership Duration

Templatic Premium Themes Club membership gives you access to all our existing themes and access to all the themes we released in next 12 months beginning from your membership date. Beginning february 2011, the 12 month duration will be changed to 3 or 6 months.

Templatic Framework and Standard Code

Templatic team is busy coding up a standard framework and advanced options panel based on Options Tree plugin by valen design so we can keep a core code and provide regular updates in all our themes.

More on this in coming weeks.

Bigger and Better Team

We will move to a newer office in the first half of this year that accommodates more people to join us in support, programming, designing and R&D in the WordPress and other area. At templatic, we are actively hiring new people at the moment. We refuse to hire anyone other than absolute best and hence, it will be a big challenge but we’re hoping for the best at the moment.

New Innovative Products

Yep, we take pride in keep exploring new paths and creating products which no one have created before – thus pushing WordPress to its max. This year too, we will continue leading this space and introduce some exciting new products in coming months. Not just the average blog and magazine themes.

Beyond WordPress

WordPress is without doubt the best CMS out there and we will keep building things for this. However, we also look forward to break the boundaries and explore another world out there. Most probably, expect announcement in this segment in the next quarter of this year.

New Partnership

We are also open and look forward to form strategic partnership with equal and like minded people/company this year in order to strengthen and take the company to newer heights. Don’t be surprised if we announce something in this regard this year.

Like it always have been, our focus will be on you – as our customer and/or a well wisher. Your inputs has been integral part of our strategy and products and we will continue to do so this year as well.

Things had not been nice since a while at templatic but we are committed to overcome the adversities. Events – as you can guess, is an advanced portal theme that features events in your city. Let’s take a quick screenshot tour of the theme.

Event Homepage

Events theme homepage combines most important things of an events portal. The complete page is widget ready so you can drag and drop things that you like. Advanced event seach, featured events, upcoming and past events, and featuring most important event categories are right there.

Best part? People are able to submit event on your website – and you can even charge for that if you like using 6 different payment gateways.

Category Listing

Clicking on any event category shows you list of upcoming and past events for that particular category in tabbed view. Best thing about this is you can sort events as per your choice.

The advanced events calender in sidebar shows you list of events on that specific day when you mouse hover the dates. Cool ha?

Event Details

Perhaps the most important page of this theme? We had to go through lots of UI variations and structure designs before finalizing this one. At the top, it shows you event name and important stuff like dates, timing and contact.

Right after that, you see a tabbed area where you can set the google map and image gallery of the event / venue / anything. And beyond this, you see description of the event, organizer details (and contact them using email form), registration details, social media and comments where users can interact with each other about event.

Admin Panel

Like the screenshot above mentions, events theme also have a strong backend wherein you can bulk upload events, manage pricing for people to submit event, set coupons, add events and so on.

A year has been passed since we last show you preview of automobile theme. Then on, we went ahead and released several simple and advanced themes but development for automobile theme were postponed each time – mostly, because we didn’t knew what an ideal automobile theme should be and should have.

Earlier last month, one of our club member – Chris Gallagher got in touch with us who happened to have thorough knowledge in building websites for garage and what they actually require and don’t require. After initial discussion we got the much needed clarity and the stuff progressed quickly from a wireframe to fully developed WordPress app for an automobile garage.
