First of all, thank you for the amazing response provided to recently released Appointment and Spa Salon themes. Soon you’ll see some new niche themes from us. Let’s get on with preview to one of them.
What if you can make a daily deal site like Woot and Groupon in WordPress? What if you don’t have to go through the tedious hassle of designing, coding and maintaining it without considerable efforts? Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, you asked for it and you will finally get it. We are working on DailyDeals WordPress theme right now and would like to share small preview with you.

DailyDeals theme is strategically designed and coded after a lot of research and iterations to give you a perfect daily deals site for your business. We hope you like it once it comes out. Is this the theme you have been waiting for?

nice…can’t wait
any screen shots?
Also looking forward to the hotel template…
My bad.. The screenshot is visible now.
reallllly……liking it…..
Looking forward to it! When are you planning to release the theme?
About two weeks is my guess.
Yeah finally!
Great stuff TP, as all your latest themes!
How will the purchase/payment work? For example, will it use only one PayPal account or have to tie in with many vendors or retailers’ individual PayPal accounts?
This is not a massive groupon like site but instead, one deal at a time – mid level deal site where admin want to publish deals regularly.
means, there will only be ONE paypal account of the admin and money will be deposited there.
Don’t forget to add an external link in the admin area for users who want to directly link to an affiliate or other payment services. This is a must have, not everyone uses paypal.
Yes i agree , 90% of online payments here in holland are done by iDeal , please add this payment gateway!
Very very cool!
Just one request – to make it very customisable so that our implementations don’t all look too similar.
Thanks!
We include few colorschemes with the theme and also ship complete source code. You can always tweak it further to your liking :)
This will be a huge seller for you! Well done, Geoplaces, your e-commerce sites and this now.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :-D
Daily Deal looks friggin awesome man, thanks for acknowledging my idea.
I have mega big plans to hack this theme and add my own nifty tools.
I love templatic.com!
Hi there,
I just wanted to know when is going to be released the “HOTEL BOOKING” theme that you announced in this thread:
http://templatic.com/news/preview-to-themes-in-the-pipeline
Can’t say much, but its going to be released soon. That’s the next theme in line.
R.Bhavesh i have a small question, the theme like coupon – discount code theme?
Good suggestion. We have noted down your suggestion. We’ll surely think about it.
I am so damn excited about this theme!! I have too many ideas that will come to fruitiion when this beast is released!
Would be cool if this was mobile friendly too!
Do you think you will enable this template to allow you to sell an actual product in this groupon format? it would require shipping info and all? Also will you enable custom field collection (ie if I want to use this for a b2b site I will need to have tax ideas in order to control that its a business making the purchase.
I would love to know if these ideas will be possible.
Whatever you have mentioned, will be possible in this theme :)
Once the theme is released, please make sure to test drive it at test.templatic.com
Nice one and cant wait to see it launched. Will you be able to tie the deals to Geo places businesses?
Thanks!
Not directly into GeoPlaces theme as both of them are independent themes.
This theme will essentially make you guys millionaires… just “this” theme.
The whole “daily deals” hype has taken over the world and so many people are trying to imitate the model but failing due to unavailable tools and knowledge.
I’m counting down the days for this theme. I hope it’s reasonably priced :)
It will be. Unlike monthly fees that others ask, this will be priced like our regular advanced themes such as GeoPlaces etc.
The theme was kind of ready but after some of the feedback in here, we again went to whiteboard and re-structured and re-did some of the very important stuff with related to a Deals Site.
I am confident, you won’t be disappointed.
I have a few more questions to ask if u dont mind.
1. Will it be multi-site enabled?
2. Can we use external links for affiliate use?
3. Can we also use it for local businesses?
Thats about it for now.
Thanks for your rapid replies so far :)
Sure.
1. Yep. All our themes support WordPress Multi Site.
2. Oh yes. The first option in the deal is.. you can set the affiliate link to outside deals at Buy Now button :)
3. Sure. As far as the features match your requirement, it can be used for any purpose.
Happy to help :)
Absolutely awesome!
So far you haven’t said ‘NO’ to a single question I’ve asked on this page :)
To be honest, all the themes I’ve purchased from Templatic, I haven’t used yet.
I just like to admire the work and effort to create such beautiful, elegant, functional, money-making themes.
Aww. Why not use them? Don’t you actually like to make money? ;)
How’s it going – I need it NOW!!! ;)
We’re also as excited as you are. Have patience, my friend :)
Hi,
Can you guys add the optional feature of being able to register using the potential customer Facebook account.
I mean, I guess I could do it but it is becoming a basic feature modern themes …. or is there some potential security risk?
Keep up the innovation,
Envirogex
Facebook integration is being thoght upon and might make it into the first version of this theme.
MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE:
Please don’t forget the countdown timer, a daily deal theme won’t be selling well without it.
I love this one from demo.woothemes.com/placeholder
Can you place it in the area where it says “iterms available”.. especially for the folks who will use it for external affiliate linking.
In fact, this is already covered. The screenshot above is a bit old and Count down timer is implemented there specifically.
You guys are just 100 miles ahead of us!
Can you add Google Checkout as a payment gateway too?
Guess what? :)
Its already there.
Sweet :)
Now I really cant wait until it’s released.. time frame?
Will I be able to set different levels of admin users? For example, can I set city managers for different cities with restricted access? e.g. NYC manager moderating NYC subscribers, deals, and merchants only.
Unfortunately, multiple cities will not be available with this theme.
Could you be more precise about the release date? This sounds so awesome, I can’t wait.
Cheers,
Alexis
I am sure Beta version of this theme will be available for Club members before end of this month. No promises though.
I have an important suggestion.
Please, do not release this theme (or any other in the future) without a language.php file.
You are killing your non English speaking customers since you decide for any reason to change to that Framework (were we unhappy with your previous model? Did you made a survey among your customers?)
It demands a huge effort to search among hundreds of files in order to translate every single word in your themes Storebox, Musician, SpaSalon And Hotel booking. Appointment is simply impossible.
So please, it does not matter if you need to release a couple of weeks later the theme with a language.php. We are not in a hurry. But you will save us tons of effort, time and money by doing it (and your themes will be in any language to your clients.
Agreed.
Basically we wish to make theme upgrades simple for customers whenever a bug is fixed or theme is upgraded.
Speaking of Language.php, we DO provide the file with ecommerce framework and rest of the themes (new or old). Simply look for “message.php” file in the theme root. Also document related to the framework is available in member area. Also get in touch with us at helpdesk if you need assistance with this further :)
We’d provide this theme for beta testing to the club members and would request you to take active part in that. Active discussion will happen in forums and the theme will be released only there after.
Hi,
message.php is just for ecommerce themes. Therefore HotelBooking, SpaSalon and Appointment have not a proper solution.
I am in contact with Helpdesk already. We both try with Appointment but you would agree the previous solution (language.php ) was a better solution by far.
Yes, a Beta testing phase is the best can happens to Daily Deals. I would be more than happy to help.
Another recommendation no precisely connected to the theme but all.
Multisites are fashion. It is very easy to build scalable websites just by adding one more blog. Templatic themes are perfect for that. Example: I could have my own Car selling website, with a second shop for parts, a Wiki, and book my appointments via online.
Here comes my proposal:
— Could you add a feature that allows unify all your themes under one skin? So I could decide integrate several of your themes with the same “feeling” in the front end (like you change the colors in the demo area).
— Could you code all your themes with the same structure: same div container and classes, etc.
— Is it possible to build future themes in a plugin/widget basis and let then share as well plugins and widgets? So I could use a booking form in a Car selling Website or a feature from geoplaces in Musician for example
While the proposal of unifying each and every theme/functionality of all our themes so far sounds a dream come true, its not easy. In fact, almost imposible considering the way we are going at the moment and how the business at templatic has taken a shape.
One of the main reason is.. each of our themes utilizes POSTS of WordPress as a core base. For example, a post is ecommerce product, article, job post, real estate listing, GeoPlace list and so on in different themes.
Unifying all of them will create one hell of a chaos (some of the users even get confused at separating mere blog posts and special listing). We do have all kind of users. I have been screamed at for something like “I am making the changes in Photoshop but its not reflected on my website!!!”.
But yes, while I do not possibility of doing this in near future, if this can be done, it would be helluva of a product.
Hi,
Being able to link this to Geo Places will be a the ideal combination, so similar color theme would be helpful.
I hoping to have the daily deal showing at the side of Geo Places as an Ad, so when the user clicks it, seeing similar color would be a bonus, would have the deal theme as a subdomain I guess?
Anyway that is my 2 cents worth of thoughts!
Indeed this is a nice suggestion. We do plan V4 for GeoPlaces theme which will come in entirely different way in terms of coding, structure, flexibility etc.
Inclusion of Deals however is a huge thing and I can not promise you anything at the moment. Let us see the success of Daily Deal theme and we can take the decision further.
Oh no, you mentioned V4, now you got me thinking, any chance of getting a time frame from you.
We have not even started coding it yet. We’ll do survey from the users first, finalize it, code it, beta test it and then release. Release is not anytime soon you can say.
When can I ask GeoPlaces v4 release?
We dont have a timeframe set yet. Be sure to cover our twitter feed for more info about the upgrade.
Will the user be able to select different cities to see available deals. Also, will there be a portal for vendors to upload their deals? Thanks
1) Select cities will not be available.
2) Yep, vendors can upload their deals and as an admin, you can approve/reject them.
This theme will be more like AppSumo and less like Groupon. Targetting mid level deal portals you know.
What’s the timeframe for this theme release?
Hours, days, weeks?
I cant wait!
Can you also update the preview screenshot please?
How about I say “hours”? :)
Well actually we plan to beta test this theme with our club users first. If you promise to test the theme thoroughly, quickly and provide constructive feedbacks immediately, I can send you the theme tomorrow.
Awesome!
Let’s do it, I’m very meticulous in testing and reviewing.
And I’ve purchased many things from AppSumo so I know the expectations and standard of service.
When will it be availae? Urgently waiting!
Can we set up newsletter services fsuch as mailchimp, campaign monitor etc? I’m not a big fan of feedburner.
Yep. We have provided 3 options to choose from for the newsletter subscription box. Feedburner, MailChimp and Campaign Monitor.
How would you compare your plugin with these two?
groupbuyingsite.com/
groupdealsplugin.com/
This is a theme + plugin combined. We wouldn’t really compare our product with others because our target is mid level deal providers and providing a practical, decent solution that layman can use.
As far as our user base is delighted by the product we will provide, we are happy :)
We have been trying to find time to test this new theme, as requested.
Is it mobile friendly (usable via a mobile phone), as our use would be aimed at Tourists and few travel with anything other than their mobile phone?
The initial version is not tested in mobile. If this theme gets good traction, we might come up with a mobile friendly version for this theme.
Thanks Radadiya,
(we saw it mentioned, when suggestions were sought on this theme, a while back)
Sounds like a good plan, at this stage of development.
Though we fear it may be self-prophesying, on the success front
As any ‘web based’ business model that is interactive ‘real time’, but limits access via mobile, will be cutting it’s own potential.
But can see there may be other priorities for the first version.
As long as users can subscribe by phone and receive the ‘offer of the day’ via email, they may be motivated enough to reach a computer, in order to buy it.
We will add a test site and see what is possible. A scrape or plugin may allow the deal information to be mobile friendly.
Thanks again.
Agreed. We have to draw a line somewhere. Or else, we will never be able to launch the theme. And that’s why we are releasing whatever we have created + not to miss and must have stuff into the theme.
The theme do have Feedburner + CM + Mailchimp integration possibility (anyone of them) so it depends on how frequent you email to the users.
Could the daily deals “plugin” operate within another theme such as geo places, and display the featured deal right within the featured area on the home page (where the map feature is in the demo)?
The Daily Deal will be available as a theme only with the initial version.
In the next version of GeoPlaces, we *might* include the deals possibility. Please do take active participation in the suggestion post that will come up about GeoPlaces in near future.
‘Calling’ a deal image into the tab that represents points on the Geo Places theme, may be a short term fix
Agreed. That kind of feature is already there, right now into the GeoPlaces.
Collectively, We are sure someone will work out how version 1 can be linked to mobile use.
As early as a year or two, mobile/computer will be like music/feature films, once data costs go down.
People listen to music all day, but only sit to watch a lengthy movie occasionally.
Thanks again.
I would be interested in testing the script and will be happy to provide detailed feedback and load testing.
Are you still releasing this theme?
We do. Today.
AWESOME! Do you have a link?
