Earlier this month, we have announced the e-commerce framework beta version which is ready to be released. But before we do, we’d want to make sure it works fine for everyone. Especially, to make sure we are not missing something important here.
The response we have received is overwhelming and some of you provided really nice suggestions that has helped us make this framework even better.

Instead of building this revolutionary WordPress E-commerce solution behind the bars, we love to include you, the actual user into this process and build it to match your actual requirement. Please take active part in beta test of this framework and let’s make this framework Best ever e-commerce solution in WordPress.
Version 0.2 of e-commerce framework is available now. Here’s what has changed and what you will benefit by the change.
Flexibility that you want
- Different Shipping for different regions: Shipping module in the framework is now upgraded to it’s level best. As an admin, you can now set any kind of criteria for local, regional, country wise or even international shipping – each of them differently for your store from the admin panel. Each of this can be set as either free, flat rate, price or weight based.
- Different Tax for different regions: Same like shipping you can now set state/region or country wise different tax as per your wish. You can even choose to keep some/all of those products tax free.
- Product ratings: The framework already supports product reviews. Along with that, now it also supports product rating on each product.
- Number of Items per page: Though this is a tiny upgrade, this will be really flexible for you to set how many items you wish to show per page on your site. Not to forget, this framework already includes
Secure
- Upgraded SSL: All our themes do support SSL on the payment page. But we’ve taken it a step further. The framework now supports SSL on checkout, login, register and payment pages as well.
- PCI compliant: We’ve taken extra precaution and now the framework is PCI security compliant
- IP address: Each of the order will now record IP address as well of the customer and as an admin, you can check this from admin panel. A tiny but very useful addition.
Built for you
- Clone a product: It gets really boring when you have to add same data again and again when most of your products are almost similar except few of the things. That pain is gone now. You can simply add a product and then, with a single click from product list page in your wp-admin, you can clone that product. Once done, simply change the parameters that is different in this and publish. YAY!
- User profiles: If you wish, as an admin, you can view profiles of all/individual user profiles to check customer’s profile data and purchase history etc.
- Improved Interface: Since first version, the interface of the framework is nicely designed. We’ve made some nice UI improvements so it gets easier for you to manage the store.
How to upgrade?: Login to templatic member area and download Ecommerce framework update zip file of the framework. It only includes updated files and folders. Simply overwrite it on the existing framework theme folder and your framework will upgrade automagically.
No design change required!: This is the actual power of this framework. The child theme that you are testing requires no change. All the changes you may have done in the child theme design remains as is and it does NOT get affected at all. While the above mentioned modules and benefits will automatically be upgraded once you overwrite the framework updates
Note: If you have purchased any of our e-commerce themes, you already have access to this upgrade. Simply login to your member area and download the latest version of the framework.

Will this framework work with wordpress mu?
yes. It works just fine with WordPress 3.0 multisite option
Hi all!
Gret Job on the Framework! It seems like it´s going to be awesome and useful! I download the first version and will do with this version as well.
I was wondering, (I´m user of the Store Theme) if you have consider to implement a client qualification, to set diferent kinds of constumers like loyalty clubs, memberships rewards an so on, depending on each user and this can offer things like steady discounts… I was wondering this since you have implemented the feature to check on each user profile and see shopping history… That might be a great feature, I believe…
Well, keep on the good work!
Some nice hints in here. Would love to have you post exact ideas on http://templatic.com/community/ so we can discuss, polish and finalize them further :)

If I can be of any more help let me know!
That’s an awesome idea. With Alberto’s suggestion above, it may help boost the sales of the store with a reward system like reward points for future purchase’s redemption.
Hi,
Seeing that there is a lot of coding going on with the new framework, i take advantage requesting an important feature to be included:
Guest check-out – Making it be possible to checkout without creating an account or loggin in. From my experience being forced to open an account can prevent customers to finish the order.
I am thrilled to hear that the framework is multi-language ready. But, what about the email-messages (library/notfication/emails) ? They are still hardcoded in text files! It wouldnt make much sense, sending my german customers emails in english after they have been shopping on the site in german language….
Keep up the good work!
Guest checkout is already built into the framework. Even existing e-commerce themes has it :)
The WPML is being redone to support this framework. It’ll take about 3 weeks more for them to come up with the solution. We’ll look into supporting emails as well
Good suggestion btw.
Hi
I have purchased one of your ecommerce themes and got the two offered free ones along with it.
Once the framework is fully tested and released will I be able to download the matching three child themes for free and apply theme to the new framework, or will I have to buy re-purchase the new child themes.
Regards
John
Nope. all the existing customers get free child themes of the themes they have already purchased
Thank you very much. Look forward to them when they are ready.
One more question please.
Would it be possible to incorporate an easy way of adding a special offer banner or a product photo with link back to the products details page. Would be good to place this at users required position or positions on either left, right, or on both sidebars.
Regards
John
You mean advertise banners right? yep, you can keep ad widgets in widget areas such as sidebars, footer etc :)
Thats good, thanks for reply.
Regards
John
We have purchased emporium theme and we wanted to try the framework using it but how?
Will the real estate theme update be released anytime soon R.Bhavesh?
we do have an update in schedule. But it will take time as we are working on this framework right now.
Did you want any specific update in Real Estate theme btw?
We have purchased three themes from your last promo and 1 ecommerce theme is included. Can we have this framework once it is finished?
every e-commerce themes customer will get the completed version once its released
Oh, thats a good news! I couldn’t wait to have this update in my e-commerce site. I really liked the framework.
Thanks.
does anyone know how to install this on a current website so it doesn’t affect any customization made and also so you don’t get the blank white screen?
This framework is totally different than the existing theme. Installation guide is included in a readme.txt file inside the framework folder
What does this mean “If you have purchased any of our e-commerce themes, you already have access to this upgrade. Simply login to your member area and download the latest version of the framework.”?
I bought WP Store a few days ago. Does that mean all the new features are there already?
Great themes.
Scott
HI Scott,
Nope. The ecommerce framework is different. The statement above means that you are eligible to get free access to framework if you wish to beta test it.
Auggh. I wish i could have found you before i spent a fortune with building a magneto site. Crazy question could you or someone get any of your themes to work with magneto? I know there wordpress themes?
Cheers
James
Hi James,
Sorry to disappoint. At the moment, these themes work with WordPress only.
Will a Emporium Child Theme be available for the new ecommerce framework soon?
Or should I figure that out on my own?
Also, Is Paypal PAYFLOW LINK or payflow pro available as a payment option with any of your ecommerce themes?
Child themes of all our ecommerce themes will be available to existing customer – with the launch of the framework.
The framework does support Paypal and Paypal Pro payment gateway.
Hi, do you aproximately know when the new framework (final version) will be released?
Is it also possible in this new framework to set different taxes for products? In our country we have two taxes – for example 10% for food and 20% for alcohol. It would be nice to have possibility to write tax manually for every products, or to predefine one, two or more taxes in some Tax menu and then in Product editing menu to choose from those predefined taxes.
Definitely yes :)
WIth the upcoming framework you can set global tax + decide per product as well whether tax applies to this product or not? How much? and so on.
Couple of questions. Can you mix and match the themes. Meaning. I need an ecommerce soultion but can i buy a CMS theme but still add 30 products to the store? Also My prices on my store depended on Quantitys. How custom can you get with the check out?
Cheers
James
Mixing themes is not possible at the moment. Because they are all differently coded as the specific niche requires.
You can however build a custom page template and keep it as homepage and separate the store that way. With the upcoming framework, we will considering quantity based discounts in the backend.
What I hope for this new framework is that to be fully compatible with wordpress mu. Because with the present themes,
1. The orders of the customers in Blog A which is registered from Blog B on the network are not showing on the orders list, dashboard widgets at the backend.
2. Notification modification is not individualized.
I also hope for these features:
1. Sale Statistics dashboard widget.
2. Ability to edit order forms to possibly add extra fields.
Hi Ken,
The theme and framework works with WP MU but if you are looking to manage different stores on one install, I am afraid it is not possible with the upcoming framework either.
Sales statistic dashboard widget is already available.
With framework, editing form field will partially be possible.
Approximately when do you expect this to be ready for proper use?
Is there any news on when the framework approximately comes out of beta? I desperately need its features for a client’s project, so really would like to hear some more info on this :)
off topic: I just had a look at your recently released Geo Places theme and it looks awesome! Better even, I have just the project in mind to be able to use it! Thanks!
Shall I say we are ready? We are done with the framework. Just adding developer + user manual documentation etc. Coming this month.
Fantastic! Thanks for the update, I’ll keep an eye on your blog then for the announcement.
Great news
So if I download it today is the final version?
its not yet uploaded for members in the member area. Wait for just a little while please :)
Did you fix the “special problem” with the return.php i posted here a while ago (calling the url directly with some variables set) ?
Any news on date of delivery?
We need to plan ahead..
Thank you
I’d love to know what’s going on also! Please give us an update.
Hey rob, the wait is over :). Its coming today. Watch for announcement in couple of hours
Any progress?
Thank you
R.Bhavesh,
Please check the trouble tickets. It killed my website.
Sure thing. I don’t see a reason how it could kill your website. But yes, we’re checking all of our tickets daily. What is your support ticket # btw?
You are very prompt on your tkts. Thank you for the info.
Hi!
I´ve read that today is teh realese of the new complete framework.
I haave a doubt regarding getting it. Do we need to pay aditional to it? Or if we have already bought an Ecommerce theme will get it directly?
Thansks!
You don’t have to pay anything extra. That’s the awesomeness templatic offers :).
We planned to launch it yesterday but things didnt go as planned. There will be a little delay of about a week now.
awesome! can’t wait to dig in.
How does your e commerce work in terms of SEO? Can each product get there URL name, can we input meta tags?
Yes you can. I tried the beta. Worked just fine. But I also installed http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-seo-pack/ just to extend it.
Please explain if the Ecommerce Framework will support other languages.
If so. How will I change my language in my store?
Manually?
Mo files?
Other?
(I need my Store in Spanish)
I’d recommend adding a 3 column store to your theme selection. For people wanting to add a e-commerce function to a content driven site.
its coming :)
I am just wondering, Settings for Weight Based Shipping, what kind of weight measurement they are using?
GRAM / KILOGRAM (KG) / OUNCE (OZ) / POUND (LB)
Because when I configuring Settings for Weight Based Shipping I saw the column
Range from
1->10
11->51
51->100
101->150
151->200
But I dont know what is weight measurement they are referring to…
