Along with the recent DDoS attack, there had been some other challenges recently but good news is, the bad things are over and we are once again in good shape and ready to roll the new things in coming days.
You have waited for quite some time since we shown you preview of the Events theme. Today, we are proud to release the Events theme with much more than what we originally planned. All because of nice creative suggestions from you guys.

Events – as you can guess, is an advanced portal theme that features events in your city. Let’s take a quick screenshot tour of the theme.
Event Homepage
Events theme homepage combines most important things of an events portal. The complete page is widget ready so you can drag and drop things that you like. Advanced event seach, featured events, upcoming and past events, and featuring most important event categories are right there.
Best part? People are able to submit event on your website – and you can even charge for that if you like using 6 different payment gateways.
Category Listing
Clicking on any event category shows you list of upcoming and past events for that particular category in tabbed view. Best thing about this is you can sort events as per your choice.
The advanced events calender in sidebar shows you list of events on that specific day when you mouse hover the dates. Cool ha?
Event Details
Perhaps the most important page of this theme? We had to go through lots of UI variations and structure designs before finalizing this one. At the top, it shows you event name and important stuff like dates, timing and contact.
Right after that, you see a tabbed area where you can set the google map and image gallery of the event / venue / anything. And beyond this, you see description of the event, organizer details (and contact them using email form), registration details, social media and comments where users can interact with each other about event.
Admin Panel
Like the screenshot above mentions, events theme also have a strong backend wherein you can bulk upload events, manage pricing for people to submit event, set coupons, add events and so on.

The Good: I love how it look and how intuitive the event listings are.
The Bad: Add Event page is too overwhelming. A multipage, step 1, step 2 kind of process will make it easier to add info.
I’ll definitely put this theme under my To Buy list.

Maybe a suggestion after all :
It could be better to add a direct link to a page from the main menu bar (or elsewhere) that list “ALL” the upcoming events in a full “chronological” listing. (order by date)
When you come to an event site like this, you want to have a global vision of what’s coming next around town without searching something specific.

What I really need to know before buying the theme is: Is it UK ready?
Can I use GBP (£) and can I use the English Date Format DD/MM/YYYY?
These are really important for me as I wil only be using it for uk events.
Also, can you switch off the ability for users to Add an Event? I don’t need that for now.

Great job on this theme guys…so many great features! I’m about to put it to use right away :)
One thing I noticed after install is that the links to the individual events pages didn’t work (404 pages) after you turn permalinks on.

I’d love to test this. The test drive version doesn’t have events admin; just has the usual blog admin. I’m guessing this hasn’t been enabled for this theme yet?

How about allowing customers to register event and pay via the event website, instead of being transferred to external registration site? We can process the payment for event organisers and issue them the total amount after the event has been successfully conducted.
