You are right. If you notice carefully, the background colors highlight the content properly because the main content in the theme is photographs. While creating color schemes, we tried light colors but decided finally to make colorschemes in a bit dull color.

As always, you can tweak the css files and make colorscheme of your choice.

Very nice and sorta of unique.

I only wish there were more “light” colors

The only light color I see is the white.. all the rest have that dark feeling even though they might be “green” in color.. Light/Slick green would’ve been better
