Till date, the best way to build an e-commerce website in wordpress was to download / buy a plugin and fit it into a theme you were already using at your site. While those plugins provided the e-commerce features, it was not built specifically for the theme YOU are using, thus compromising design quality and usability. The free plugins charged you to get basic features such as “show products in grid-view”.
Not anymore. In our site re-brand post we declared that we were working on an e-commerce platform and introduced various features of e-commerce platform built specifically for the wordpress users. The wait is over. Here’s Store – our first theme in the e-commerce series.
An elegant store theme for small business with powerful features at the backend. You won’t need to install any plugins. This theme have everything built-in. Ofcourse you can add as many products you want. But most of the stores does have limited products to offer. Suggestion for your Store theme. Allow users to purchase a product without having to register first. Will help with conversions. Otherwise very good looking theme.
Seems to be a nice theme.
Our Products area can have “sub-categories” ? I don’t see on the demo or screenshots with a sub-menu with that.

This is a very well thought out theme and it looks great!
On a useability note, on the product pages, it seems like it would be better to have the important “add to cart” button above the fold so it’s easier to spot immediately. I’ve also read that the add-to-cart button should have a good contrast with the rest of the page so it stands out:

A couple of questions:
1) Can “Store” track inventory levels (by product option). Like how many smalls, how many mediums, etc that you have left in stock? I work with t-shirt stores and this would be a very useful feature
2) Can the main page show a grid view of many products instead of one featured product in a slider?

Like the new theme but I have one big problem with it which is that it makes customers sign up for an account before they purchase. The ‘login’ page would put me off purchasing the item leading to a high rate of cart abandonment – it just looks like too much hard work.
I would suggest the following changes to the template:
1. option not to require a login to purchase an item or
2. a far more ‘express’ account setup.

I purchased the Store theme , and I love it. I would love it more if the I could get the images to work. I have tried eveything in the set-up guide and nothing seams to work. Images work fine in blog post, but not for the actual products.Please help, is there any other info so i can get this corrected. Thanks

I tried the demo. There’s no clear checkout button prior to clicking on the “view cart” link. Also, don’t require account registration before payment. Besides main templates, the blog and post templates could use some cleaning up, but that’s really just nitpicking.
Hey SP, thanks for your critic. We’re working on 1.1 version of this theme and have updated this thing tremendously along with guest checkout, affilitae module and several other usability improvements. New version should be available in few days.
