Hotel Booking is now powered by Tevolution

HotelBooking version 2 has been available as a beta in our forums for a while, but, the time has finally come to officially announce it! Design wise, HotelBooking 2 is very similar to its predecessor, however, things are substantially different under the hood. Unlike the original HotelBooking theme in which the booking module was hardcoded, HotelBooking 2 is powered by our Tevolution plugin plus a booking add-on. This change is allowing us to standardize the booking functionality across multiple themes. The same system will power Vacation Rental 2; scheduled to release in a week or two.

Read this post and see what’s new in HotelBooking 2, if you’re more of a video type watch the overview instead.

HotelBooking 2 is available as a free upgrade to all HotelBooking owners with an active membership. To download the theme just visit our member area.

Responsive Design Visit the Demo Site

Featuring a mobile-friendly design, HotelBooking 2 will look great on most devices, be it mobile or otherwise. To test this out simply visit the HotelBooking 2 demo site with your smartphone or tablet. If you don’t have those devices near you, simply resize the browser window with the demo site open.

Streamlined booking process

Since this is an important update, we’ve tried to make it as user-friendly as possible. Visitors will also get feedback on whether the room is available or not as soon as they select the date. Trial end error problems present in the original theme are now part of the past. What’s more, the booking form is now a “regular” page template, allowing you to set the URL to whatever you want; same goes for the booking calendar.

Custom fields (an integral part of Tevolution) will allow you to customize the booking form with tons of new field types. Just like in the original HotelBooking theme, services are available here as well.

Availability Calendar

The booking calendar was probably the number one suggestion we received for HotelBooking 2. The calendar took a few iterations to perfect so we’re hoping you’ll be happy with the final result. The calendar works similarly to the availability calendar in Vacation Rental; it shows the visitor which dates are free and which aren’t. Click here to see the calendar in action.

I’m very happy to see this release and will be elbows-deep in customizing it for a client in the next few weeks. I appreciated the opportunity to give input and feedback on the beta, as well. Thanks!

      Hi Josh
When selecting a date (first field) you select both the check-in and check-out date. So yeah, it’s not appearing, but it doesn’t need to.
