There’s no doubt one of Templatic’s strengths is e-commerce. Many popular WordPress e-commerce themes in the market currently is from Templatic.com, but we’ve been reading your feedback and we understand not everyone is waiting for yet another e-commerce theme release.
Here’s what we’re going to do. Instead of disappointing those that ARE waiting for more e-commerce themes, we are expanding the Templatic network with Ecommerce Plex — a site dedicated to WordPress e-commerce by Templatic.
Much like how Templatic has gotten from one WordPress enthusiast to seven full-time developers/designers. We are expanding our network from one to two sites.
It’s important to note that a step forward with Ecommerce Plex is NOT a step backward for Templatic.com. We’ll continue to release more powerful, advance themes like the recently released Geo Places. We’re simply trying to focus our efforts and moving e-commerce themes and ideas over to Ecommerce Plex. With this strategy, we don’t have to save any idea for later and be able to freely push the limits of WordPress e-commerce at our own pace.
How will this affect existing Templatic e-Commerce customers?
Whether you’ve purchased a single theme or currently are a Templatic club member, if you have an e-commerce theme in your Templatic.com account, you will automatically have an account on Ecommerce Plex and access to the new framework for free.
Also, you’ll continue to receive support from our staff. Nothing changes.
Ecommerce Plex Management
To make sure we stay true to our words that a step froward with Ecommerce Plex isn’t a step backward for Templatic.com, we’ve added Tung Do a.k.a Small Potato to our team to make sure we don’t spread ourselves too thin.
Tung Do is a theme-designer / front-end coder / blogger who has experience in building and managing an online community. Some of you might know him from three years back when his website was actually the top site in WordPress themes before he decided to take a break for extended traveling.
Recently, Tung has contributed designs and WordPress tutorials to Templatic.com. We believe his skills and experience are important to the success of Ecommerce Plex and for ensuring quality.
He’ll be the head of our new expansion and will introduce himself shortly. Meanwhile, head over to Ecommerce Plex and read the launch post for more details.
I hope this also means that you will enter in the field of bookings (hotels, apartments, car rental ,…)

will ecommerce plex be included in new club membership ? or will be different than templatic club
the club members get access to the products that exists right now on EcommercePlex.com . Future products at EP is not included
Yes, you are right, I can access both member site.
BUT. The templates (with same name) aren’t identical, the version numbers aren’t identical. Which is the newest? I don’t know. Please explain me what is the right way? Migrate to Plex templates or not?
like the post above explains, Plex is a new start with different approach. So, themes on plex site is advanced and newer version than the ones on templatic
so this mean that no theme updates and ecommerce framework updates are avaliable for templatic ecommerce themes ?

We’ve come up with GeoPlaces. V2 of the theme is coming up. Once done, we will think on this niche as well. No promises though

So just trying to clarify…does this mean you will not be releasing any more e-commerce themes on Templatic? If this is true (and according to your comment above) this means that I will no longer have access to any future e-commerce themes? Is this true?? (I have a premium membership with Templatic).
As a templatic club member (existing or now), you get access to all our existing ecommerce themes (now migtrated to EcommercePlex AND get access to the framework).
The new site will be focused on ecommerce themes only and there will be lot more ecommerce themes out there. So, by default the club members will not get access to FUTURE themes on that site but yes, once in a while we might give access to some new themes on that site to club members.
The decision was taken to separate those themes because we wanted to do more themes on this niche – some club members complained we were releasing too many themes on that niche. Hence the separation.
Don’t worry. As a club member, you will continue to receive lot more awesomeness like our recent geoplaces theme at templatic. More awesomeness coming this month
