In case you want to create menu icons as seen in the Vacation Rental demo, this is your stop.
All the icons are already in the theme, and css classes are already created. All you need to do is “tell” your custom menu buttons to use those classes.
For the following to work you must have the newest version of Vacation Rental. The initial (release) version did this differently (far more complicated). Please update your theme if you still have the initial version.
- Create a custom menu like you normally would. You can see how to create a custom menu in this video
- Now that you created your custom menu click on the Screen Options in the upper right corner (while you’re at wp-admin -> Appearance -> Menus) and turn on CSS Classes.
- Since we turned on those CSS classes fields it would be a good idea to enter something in them. This is the list of custom menu css classes available to you. Each one “corresponds” to a particular image. Image is on the left, it’s class on the right.

So, if you have a Guest Book page you would enter guestbook in the CSS class field for that custom menu button.
After you complete the above steps you should have a menu that looks something like this:
